At Little Acorns, we are always looking for ways to improve the opportunities, independence and quality of life of the people we support. We are therefore delighted to introduce our new wheelchair-accessible minibus, which will make it easier for residents to get out and about safely and comfortably. The new vehicle has been chosen to make community access more inclusive, particularly for residents who may have mobility needs or require wheelchair access. It will support a wide range of activities, including appointments, shopping trips, social activities, days out and other community-based opportunities.
Importantly, the minibus will also give residents greater opportunities to travel beyond their local area. This means we can plan more trips to different towns, attractions and places of interest, as well as support residents to enjoy longer journeys and holiday trips where appropriate. For us, having suitable transport is about much more than getting from one place to another. It gives residents greater freedom to take part in everyday life, maintain relationships, explore their interests, experience new places and enjoy meaningful experiences outside the home.
Our new wheelchair-accessible minibus will support greater independence and inclusion, while opening up more opportunities for local outings, trips further afield and holiday experiences. This addition reflects our continued commitment to supporting independence, inclusion and meaningful participation in the wider community.
