Fernwood House is the registered base for Specialist Care's supported living service in Eastbourne.
From here, our team coordinates personalised support for adults living within supported living arrangements, with a focus on helping people maintain their wellbeing, manage everyday responsibilities and live with greater independence.
Supported living differs from residential care because the individual's home and their support are distinct.
Our aim is therefore not to take over everyday life, but to provide the level of support each person needs to live safely while retaining as much choice and control as possible.
Support arrangements are developed around assessed individual needs and reviewed as circumstances change.
Who We May Support
Supported living may be suitable for adults who can live more independently with an appropriate package of support around them.
This can include people moving from residential care, preparing to leave hospital or looking for a more independent community-based support arrangement.
More intensive support can also be considered where individual needs require it, subject to assessment and commissioning arrangements.
